It’s a great and a whole some thing to give thanks to the Lord. To those who understand his nature, it’s indeed a delight to give Christ thanks. The more you understand the peace, love and hope that comes from Christ the more eager will you be to give him thanks.
One thing is that there is no special time to give thanks. You can thank him any time of the day or night. Psalm 34:1 says it best – I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. Notice that this Psalm says one can even praise the vocally.
Be it songs, poetry or plain words one can really praise the Lord. We read in Psalm 69:30 – I will praise the name of God with song, And shall magnify Him with thanksgiving.
When you enter the prayer chapel or a church or any place where Christ is worshiped enter over there with thanksgiving. Psalm 100:4 – Enter His gates with thanksgiving, And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him; bless His name.
Always give thanks to the Lord for he is good. Take in mind, 1 Chronicles 16:34 – O give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; For His loving-kindness is everlasting.
If a fire fighter saved you out of a burning building you’d be really grateful, right? How much thankful you should be with Christ who has ensured your safety in the next life too?
Be thankful to Christ every time his power and grace gets manifest in your life. Psalm 107:29-32 – He caused the storm to be still, So that the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they were glad because they were quiet; So He guided them to their desired haven. Let them give thanks to the LORD for His loving-kindness, And for His wonders to the sons of men! Let them extol Him also in the congregation of the people, And praise Him at the seat of the elders.
Thanks giving helps you to be humble and reverent towards the Lord. The more thankful a person is to God the more chances does he give to Christ to do more miracles in his life. Let gratitude be a part of your attitude.

One of the delights of being in the Lord Jesus is that he wants you to be happy. Do not get discouraged now matter what the hardship you face. It’s God will that he takes away your sadness. Sometimes when you are facing various troubles you might wonder what does God say about this suffering. You can then read Revelation 21:4 which says And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
God wants to wipe your tears so that you be happy again. Jesus was already aware that people do face problems, alright. No wonder Christ said in John 16:33 – “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world”
Yes be happy because Jesus has overcome the world!
When you are not feeling happy just pray out to the Lord. Tell him how you feel. Trust me, he will hear and deliver you from all bad emotions and much more. Read, Psalms 40:1-3 I waited patiently for the LORD; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God.
Psalm 27:14 – Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
You might also like to pray out this one.. Psalm 143:7-8 – Answer me quickly, O Lord; my spirit fails. Do not hide your face from me or I will be like those who go down to the pit. Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I’ll lift up my soul.
My feeling and prayer for you is the same in Romans 15:13 – May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Scripture gives us great advice when faced with anxiety. Did you that anxiety when goes to the extreme can lead to a mental breakdown? Its rather better that you do what’s in the scriptures as you face anxiety. Here are some practical tips for you:
- 1 Peter 5:7 – Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
- James 4:10 – Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
- Philippians 4:6-7 – Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
- Isaiah 40:31, But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
- Psalm 55:22 – Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.
- Psalm 27:14 – Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
- Psalms 37:3-4 Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
I do hope that you put this to practice and see a radical difference in your life. And remember, be happy in the Lord 🙂
When you are hard pressed. When temptations assail you. When impulsiveness is found all around you. What do you? You can give in to hopelessness or you can wait on the Lord.
Waiting on the Lord is the privilege and sacred honor of those who believe in Jesus. It’s a opportunity to show respect. When you wait for God a lot of good will happen. Sweet is waiting on the Lord for those who want to get true hope.
This is the true hope that comes from Christ. It encourages the fainting heart, body and mind. Waiting on the Lord brings you power and strength. Isaiah 40: 29-31 says He gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: but they that wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Waiting on the Lord gets you help from God. Waiting on the Lord is a sign of trust in him. Psalm 33:20 says We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. When you wait for him you are shielded in the shelter of his Sacred Heart where your soul will flourish. Wait in the garden of your soul where the Lord pours his Living Waters all fresh and spirit renewing.
Wait and listen to the word of God in the scriptures. Let words of encouragement from God be heard, listen well, be still and let his glory manifest. Be renewed in mind and dwell in his word. Never waste your time in worthless patterns of thought. Think of his grace which will strengthen you deep within. Pray faithfully and confidently that God’s showers of blessing come on you and take away the dryness of your heart.

Here are a few tips from me on how to pray silently. The numbering doesn’t imply which tip is more important that the other. All tips are equally important. Learn them for they are simple and easy to remember. Here we go:
1.) Sit or stand in a suitable prayer posture. Sitting posture is good for long hours of praying. Standing is good for a short time of prayer.
2.) Go to a place where you’re least likely to be disturbed. Switch off or put your mobile/pager/beeper on silent.
3.) Joining hands in prayer is a good choice. Some may find raising both hands in the air helps to focus on God in a better way.
4.) Avoid munching, chewing gum/food while praying. This is a sign of respect, that you don’t put bodily needs over your prayer needs.
5.) Read the Bible or if you don’t have the Bible try to pray out some of the Psalms or the words of Jesus that you remember preached to you.
6.) Voice out in your mind the same things to God which you’d voice out when normally speaking to Him.
7.) Always have an idea about what you’re praying for e.g. peace, guidance etc. This is particularly useful when two or more are supposed to pray silently about the same thing.
While you pray to God confess aloud the Holy Scriptures. God already knows them, so this is not about reminding him about them. It’s about reminding ourselves of God’s faithfulness. When you confess his promises back to him you show that you trust his word. Praying the scriptures deepens your faith, purifies your motives, renews your spirit and connects you to God.
I’m writing this while it’s raining. Rains are a creation of God. God created the world as it is through his Word. What a great work indeed!
Psalm 77:12 I will meditate on all your works and consider all your mighty deeds.
We know that Jesus is the Word of God made flesh. God made nature when he spoke in his Holy Spirit through his Son Jesus. God is the ruler of all heaven and earth. This also makes Jesus the King of creation and therefore he is the king of nature.
The enemy tries to hide this work of Christ. How? He gets people in interested in worthless movies, music, painting etc. He prevents them from looking at the blue sky, great seas and lakes, the fishes, birds and animals.
I believe that God is an artist and he is the greatest there is. Artists make master pieces out of canvas, paper, wood and nowadays through computer apps. However, all in all God is the greatest artist for he made things out of nothing. He just spoke them into existence.
The reason why the enemy doesn’t want to understand nature is that he doesn’t want us to learn the greatness of God from it as God intended it.
But ask the animals, and they will teach you,
or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you;
or speak to the earth, and it will teach you,
or let the fish in the sea inform you.
Which of all these does not know
that the hand of the Lord has done this?
In his hand is the life of every creature
and the breath of all mankind.
No wonder the enemy tries to keep the marvelous work of God hidden through the vanities of life and even tries to destroy it. He does it through greedy and uncaring people who pollute nature for some bits of money. God save us from them all! Amen.
God delights in his creation – nature.
Watch through the telescope and see the stars at night, millions of them. Each of them personally named by God himself.
Watch the mighty comets that remind us of awesome strength of God. Note how the Sun and Moon are so very obedient to his will. They don’t need a recharge like our mobiles do. God made them function without a battery.
Look at the seas and oceans. Great, vast and blue. Just imagine how the Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:2) was hovering over the surface of the waters.
God loves his creation which is nature. Birds of the air, fish of the sea give him the praise and no other. Even a donkey spoke up for God when no human would listen (Numbers 22:28).
The thunder reminds me of his mighty voice. The lightning reminds of his great light. The small still wind reminds me of his steadfast goodness.
God still commands nature even after the rebellion.
Many people believe that after the fall of man, nature got subject to the enemy. However, I still believe that God is in control of nature. God spoke and the ravens fed Elijah (1 Kings 17:2-6). And Jesus the son of God did a great wonder, he rebuked the stormy winds and water and these listened to him and calmed down (Luke 9:22-25).
Nature always belongs to Christ and will be rescued by him. Christ like his Father God most high not only loves humans, he loves all of his creation. He cares for your pet cat, parrots etc and also for your plants and trees. Do pray for your pets and trees!
Animals were saved from the flood and afterwards made a part of the covenant with Noah (Genesis 9:9-10). Genesis 9, After the flood, it was told “I will make a covenant with you and with all living creatures.” This was the Old testament.
The New testament’s even more pronounced on this. In his plan for salvation of man he also chose to liberate nature for man. I feel its partly because when He created man he intended him to be in nature and tend to it as a steward of his creation.
Romans 8:19-23 says, The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.
A lesson to learn from the above verses is that like how nature is so eager for Jesus to come again to rescue it, so must we be eager for him to come to save us from the decadence of his world.
We are in the fallen world but not of the fallen world. Rather we are part of the redeemed world of whom Christ is the only King and not any other, not even evolution. Bless nature through which God blesses you. How does nature bless you?, anyone might ask. “Where do you get your oxygen from?” is my answer to this.
I’m just adding a small prayer that I suggest that you could use to pray for your pets/plants.
Prayers for pets and plants.
O Lord Jesus bless my plant/pet N* (N* name of animal, i.e ..Jimmy..avoid saying dog/plant/fish..say the name)
Show forth your mercy like in the days of old
when you saved Noah and also the animals and plants.
Bring your healing touch to them.
Let your angels protect them.
God our Father, bless them through your Son Jesus,
that they too be set free from all troubles and sickness.
I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen and Amen.
You are the sons and daughters of Christ,
Christ is the King of All.
A King has soldiers,
You are his soldiers, ahoy.
The great King is the king of light,
So are the soldiers of light!
Spread light everywhere, soldiers!
March forward and never backtrack.
The nature of light is to dispel darkness,
A soldier of light repels darkness.
Soldiers of Christ arise,
Walk from age to age.
Spread hope where there is none,
Give the Gospel and you give hope.
Fear not the enemy one bit,
For Christ has won it all.
Trample snakes and scorpions, them all,
You have authority use it.
All the enemies weapons against us are useless,
Hold on to the truth and fight back.
Heal the sick and never pass out,
Condemn the accusers and their lot.
This is your heritage O Soldier,
Live in it strongly now my friend.
Born a Soldier in the Lord,
Don’t try to become for you already are.
The angels will come at the world’s end,
To help you soldier of faith to survive in glory.
Keep steady, speak life in abundance,
Pray in the success that Christ has won.
Bear the standard of the cross.
By it are the evil powers defeated.
Christ will come again O soldier.
So stand firm when final judgment arrives.
Wear the armor of God, will ye then?
Rise up for the Savior again and again.
Scripture references :
Romans 8:37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
Mark 16:18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”
Luke 10:19 Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you.
Isaiah 54: 16-17 Behold, I have created the smith that blows the coals in the fire, and that brings forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy. 17 No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, said the LORD.
Isaiah 54: 15 Watch! If anyone does attack you, it will not be from me; whoever may attack you will fall because of you.
Matthew 28:19-29 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 13:41-43 The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will remove from his Kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the blazing furnace where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in their Father’s kingdom. Anyone who has ears should listen!
Colossians 2:15 In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.
Colossians 2:10 and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority.
John 12:31 Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out.
1 Corinthians 15:24 Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power.
Psalm 144:1 Of David. Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle;
Ephesians 6:11-17 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace..
To continue in Christ means to take time to grow. When you have been in Christ you should not stagnate spiritually. Jesus gives us the living waters. So we are to have life in us, in our thoughts, words and actions.
Sometimes if funny to hear Christians speak about their past experiences in Christ. Not that it’s bad to speak about the Lords works in your life. But it’s bad that you can only talk what he did in your life 15 years ago and are completely zonked when you are asked what God did in your life very much recently. This means you are not that engrossed in the Lord like about 10-15 years ago.
Growing up in Christ, is the key to keep continuing in Christ. Don’t get me wrong but if your love for God hasn’t increased from the last 5 years, something is wrong, not with Christ but with you. Do not use what the Lord has done for you by any means to remove the need for personal accountability with the Holy Spirit. The finished work of the cross doesn’t absolve you from personal responsibility.
It’s your responsibility to love God even more. By how much? That’s some that only you can decide but I can safely say, love God to the best of what you are and can do.
You can’t say you love God when aren’t bothered to read the Bible nor care about reaching out to sinners, when you don’t want to give hope to the sick and the afflicted. Don’t scam yourself saying in your heart that the Lord will forgive your sin whatever you do especially when the Lord is long suffering. Get it real mate, sinners do not make it to heaven. It’s the person who believes in Jesus who actually goes to heaven.
It’s your responsibility to believe in the Lord Jesus. Even the Lord Jesus can’t believe on your behalf. Believing is not just a mental affirmation, it’s a living trust in the Lord that manifest in all your actions. Have respect for him. You can’t be focused on eating when you are worshiping him, okay. If you are hungry then eat first and then pray rather than trying to be too religious appearing to pray first but distracted with thoughts about food. The kingdom of heaven is not food and drink but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
You can’t say you are righteous if you are not concerned with the righteousness of Christ that he gives you. Being focused only on sin avoidance but not on the holiness of God is a very imbalanced way of life. It’s like accepting Christ only to escape hell and not because the Lord is worthy of worship. Do not make your Christian life something like not being bothered about the Lord’s discipline.
You must be eager for the Lords discipline. It not something like a judgment kind of a thing. Why should the Lord judge you if you truly in him? Here it means that the Lord could be leading you to more meditation on the word rather just singing hymns. The Lord could be reminding you that you are to carry your cross daily instead of waiting idly. The Lord could be asking you for more of quality prayer time instead of wasting time on entertainment.
If you want to learn from the Bible don’t wait for a big change in your church that they start Bible study classes. If you want to go to college do you wait for the church to pass a law favoring going to college or do you just go directly to college? So why then if you want a Bible study do you wait for the Church to start Bible classes? There are so many books from which you can learn to read the Bible, which you can get from a leading book store. Why don’t you just get them? In my own case, I learnt a lot without the need to go to Bible studies, so I do know it’s possible to do so.
You need to grow in Christ, you need to start now and for that you need the Lord. You should desire to grow not because you want to increase in ability but rather that you wish to honor God. Desire to grow because the Lord expects it from you!!
Always be balanced, never be too extreme in Spirit. My spiritual
teacher would always remind me that the “Devil lurks in the extremes”.
At the one end the devil entices people in hedonism while at the other end
being too wise.
Ecclesiastes 7:16-17 Be not overly righteous, and do not make yourself
too wise. Why should you destroy yourself? Do not be excessively
wicked and do not be a fool. Why should you die before your time?
Time came to carry the cross,
To take the sinners loss.
Would Jesus say yes?
Nobody dared guess.
He would be badly betrayed,
Was he afraid?
Thorns would be his crown,
Carrying a cross wooden brown.
Die for all and live again,
For this take all the pain.
Christ had a choice,
To follow God’s voice.
Would he say yes?
Nobody dared guess.
Scourging and condemnation,
Took him, for each nation.
Separation from the Father above,
Brought fear to the Son of Love.
Asked he to take this chalice away,
But he knew God’s will that day.
Was he to walk to die at Calvary’s hill?
Yes for he said “not as I will, but as you will”.
That’s why he went on that day,
For only Yes he wanted to say.
