Wait on the Lord
When you are hard pressed. When temptations assail you. When impulsiveness is found all around you. What do you? You can give in to hopelessness or you can wait on the Lord.
Waiting on the Lord is the privilege and sacred honor of those who believe in Jesus. It’s a opportunity to show respect. When you wait for God a lot of good will happen. Sweet is waiting on the Lord for those who want to get true hope.
This is the true hope that comes from Christ. It encourages the fainting heart, body and mind. Waiting on the Lord brings you power and strength. Isaiah 40: 29-31 says He gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: but they that wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Waiting on the Lord gets you help from God. Waiting on the Lord is a sign of trust in him. Psalm 33:20 says We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. When you wait for him you are shielded in the shelter of his Sacred Heart where your soul will flourish. Wait in the garden of your soul where the Lord pours his Living Waters all fresh and spirit renewing.
Wait and listen to the word of God in the scriptures. Let words of encouragement from God be heard, listen well, be still and let his glory manifest. Be renewed in mind and dwell in his word. Never waste your time in worthless patterns of thought. Think of his grace which will strengthen you deep within. Pray faithfully and confidently that God’s showers of blessing come on you and take away the dryness of your heart.
