Get rid of all bitterness through forgiveness
Ephesians 4:31-32 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.
If there is too much of bitterness and wrath in you then its not a good thing. Malice in your heart for too long can end up hurting you emotionally.
Forgiveness is the cure to that!
Now when you forgive it doesn’t take away the fact that you were wronged. Its only that you have decided not let the evil done to you end up controlling you.
You might feel you are giving away your right to justice. Not actually, your right to justice remains but that part will be handled by God for sure. Remember at the Final Judgement, all those who are still in their sins will be judged severely and permanently.
On your part, forgiving the person who hurt you keeps you away from judgement.
Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Luke 6:37 Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
