Turning your test into a testimony
Posted by pray2christ
It’s easy to keep cribbing about the challenges in life you get. It’s easy to play the blame game for your tough situations. It’s much harder to get started to take authority of your life when you have many valid reasons to put the blame on what someone did to oppress you.
But if want to really make a lasting difference in your life then you choose to take charge of your life and start making positive choices from now onwards. Read the Bible, especially the books of Proverbs and Psalms along with the Gospel and use the wisdom in it to turn your life around for the better. Practice the good wisdom of the Gospel. See the difference for yourself.
I utterly hate the words ‘why did God do this to me?’, can’t understand why people have to push all the blame to God instead of bad people or the devil who are to be blamed. A terror attack happens, some blame God. Somebody gets hurt in an accident, some blame God. Somebody’s team didn’t top the annual listings, some again crib and blame God. Then something good happens, then totally don’t give praise to God. Then they say it was their own effort alone that let to great achievements. What a insincere and narrow-minded world we live in?
God has done the greatest thing for you. Yes, he gave his only begotten Son Jesus to shed his blood for you on the cross for your salvation. Your way and right to heaven is established by you simply having faith in Jesus and you don’t need to earn it. You have a guaranteed resurrection from the dead. You have an everlasting heritage. You no longer are alone in spirit but receive the Holy Spirit the Comforter who guides you in righteousness. We can always thank the Lord Jesus for this.
There is something that you do to actually give glory to God. It’s very simple. I’m not saying it’s going to always be easy but I assure you that it’s a simple thing. Just live a life of faithfulness to Jesus Christ in all things of your life, nothing more and nothing less.
Speak out what the Lord God has done for you. Don’t be hesitant or afraid to speak for the glory of the Lord.
Mark 5:19 And Jesus did not permit him but said to him, “Go home to your friends and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.”
Psalm 66:16 Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for my soul.
Psalm 71:15 My mouth will tell of your righteous acts, of your deeds of salvation all the day
Psalm 107:1-2 Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble
Psalm 40:9-10 I have told the glad news of deliverance in the great congregation; behold, I have not restrained my lips, as you know, O Lord. I have not hidden your deliverance within my heart; I have spoken of your faithfulness and your salvation; I have not concealed your steadfast love and your faithfulness from the great congregation.
Don’t fear death nor persecution when you have to stand up for Christ in front of anyone at all. Professing Jesus without fear is what you are called live for. Never back away from this calling no matter what the world says or does. Your time and life on earth are now for the glory of God.
You don’t need to be someone ‘special’ to speak about the goodness of Christ, you just need to have faith in the Gospel. Now some Christians have amazing things to say, like they were dying of cancer or AIDS and the Lord healed them. But you may have never been subject to any sickness nor violence or economic problem, so give to glory to God even still.
Don’t think you are out of words in this case, because you still have something great to say, that the Lord Jesus has saved you from eternal damnation. Getting saved from going to hell even to this day is greater than getting saved from a nuclear attack. Hell has eternal suffering but you don’t need to go there to suffer, thanks to the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.
Here are a few scriptures to reflect on:
Luke 12:8 Jesus said, “And I tell you, everyone who acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man also will acknowledge before the angels of God,
Matthew 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
1 John 5:10-11 Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his Son. And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
2 Corinthians 4:13 Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, “I believed, and so I spoke,” we also believe, and so we also speak,
Revelation 12:11 And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.
