Faith and courage

priorities

Your walk with Christ will need both faith and courage at the same time. You can’t say you have faith in Christ if you don’t find courage through him. The Lord is triumphant over the Evil One, so you have nothing to fear.

But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not fear, only believe.” (Mark 5:36)

If you read the context in which Jesus said “Do not fear, only believe” for which you can refer to Mark 5:35-43. The Lord Jesus had just healed a woman with the issue of blood. Then immediately he was asked for help on behalf of Jairus the ruler of the synagogue. The need was urgent as Jairus’ daughter had died. They didn’t want Jesus to bother as they had given up due to her death. Yet Jesus went on to Jairus’ house and raised the daughter of Jairus back from the dead. So if you notice Jesus said “Do not fear, only believe.” in face of death! Be fearless because you believe in Jesus for resurrection from the dead.

It is vanity to live in fear of people’s opinion who do not like your love of God. You need not be fearful of man or anything when you put your trust in the Lord God.  Rather one must always remember that salvation only comes from the Lord Jesus who gives hope that never ends.
