The Parable of the Ten Virgins speaks of the return of Christ
O Lord Jesus I pray that we who believe in you are found worthy and free from all deceit when you come back to claim what is yours on earth. Let the Holy Spirit guide our thoughts, words and actions so we always are true to the Lord God your Father in heaven. Cause all darkness to flee from our lives as we call upon your Holy Name. Amen.
The Parable of the Ten Virgins speaks of the return of Christ. Let’s this Parable as mentioned below:
1 Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. 3 For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, 4 but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps. 5 As the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and slept.6 But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ 7 Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ 9 But the wise answered, saying, ‘Since there will not be enough for us and for you, go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves.’ 10 And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut. 11 Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open to us.’ 12 But he answered, ‘Truly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ 13 Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.(Matthew 25:1-13)
Do not be like the five foolish virgins who missed out on the wedding. They didn’t take enough supply of oil for themselves, so with the lights dimming out they naturally felt sleepy at night. Only the wise ones took sufficient oil for themselves and could keep awake till the bridegroom came. Let the oil of enthusiasm and diligence in the Gospel always be with you in great measure. Never be shy of holding on to the light of Gospel even all around others love darkness. It’s vain to be jealous of those who hold to darkness. Be true to the Lord Jesus in your faith towards him.
Don’t fall asleep spiritually. The body needs sleep and must be looked after. However your spirit is eternal. Let not your spirit go drowsy on awaiting the return of Jesus Christ. Show great respect for his word. For he doesn’t lie. Jesus Christ has mentioned that no one knows the time when he will come and also that indeed he will come. So stay awake that you do not miss out on the glory of His return.
Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.(Matthew 24:42)
“And behold, I am coming soon. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.” (Revelation 22:7)
Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.” (Revelation 22:12-13)
He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! (Revelation 22:20)
