Use technology to spread the Gospel

funny but true

I find it fascinating that in the last few years that communication technology has got so advanced in such a short span of time. Knowledge which was accesible only to a select few is now available to almost anyone. There are people who are also spreading good cheer and encouraging stories via messaging applications and other forms of social media. In fact its quite positive. Some of the pictures of cats, dogs etc are quite amusing and funny too.

Where it goes wrong is where people use social media to heap abuses on each other of various degrees such as racist propaganda, vulgar words, sexism and what not. There are certain people whom I feel are in need of serious mental rehabilitation, these come online with the sole purpose of trolling their unsuspecting victims and getting pleasure by posting their insane logic all over the place. Yes, communication technology is being misused too.

As Christians we are not to misuse our God given talents and resources. Sending a clean and innocent joke is fine but never send immoral and racist jokes. If passing on messages which are forwards, try to double check the validity and truth in these things. Never pass things that are worthless rumors and hate.

There’s one thing I highly recommend that you pass along especially with your friends and family in Christ; the Word of God. These days without a doubt has been the manifestation of the the prophecy mentioned in the book of Daniel the prophet.

But you, Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book, until the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.” (Daniel 12:4)

Never earlier has been such a dramatic rise in the spead of knowledge. Tips and techiques in medicine, engineering, business which would take decades to move from the East to the West and from the West to the East now gets transferred in a few minutes and sometimes in a few seconds. You can even know what’s the present weather in Auckland, New Zealand at the click of a button even if you are in some Scottish isle by the meadows.

Be part of the prophecy of Daniel in a positive way. Don’t be like those who spread evil knowledge shamelessly. Spread good cheer to your friends and family. The greatest thing you can ever pass on to anyone is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Not everyone might accept the Gospel but for everyone who does accept it, you will have given them a hope true and everlasting for their salvation. I encourage you to indeed use technology to spread the Gospel.
