With wildflowers the fields God has arrayed;
In their beauty His glory is displayed!
They are here for a season to unfold;
Then they are gone no longer to behold;
But someday soon the earth shall be remade,
And wildflowers shall never again fade!
Their beauty shall blaze forth eternally
With more splendor for every eye to see!
“There is the same power with God to forgive sin as there used to be, for the blood of Jesus is as powerful to cleanse as it ever was! Note, also, that there is the same power of the Holy Spirit to change your nature as there ever was. He who turned Saul of Tarsus from an enemy into an Apostle can do just the same with you. Of old, conversion was likened to the raising of the dead and He who has quickened many a dead soul can quicken your dead soul, and raise you from the dead! It was also called a new creation, and He who made all things new in other men can make all things new in you! ”(Charles Spurgeon, Sermon #2411)
“Though housed in a narrow prison, Paul dwelt in heaven. He accepted beatings and wounds more readily than others reach out for rewards. Sufferings he loved as much as prizes; indeed he regarded them as his prizes, and therefore called them a grace or gift. Reflect on what this means. To depart and be with Christ was certainly a reward, while remaining in the flesh meant struggle. Yet such was his longing for Christ that he wanted to defer his reward and remain amid the fight; those were his priorities.” (St. John Chrysostom)
