Pray the following prayer with faith in the Lord God and mercy towards children:
O Lord God, I come before you on behalf of the children of the world. I ask for their protection from potential child molesters and rapists. In the name of Jesus Christ, I ask for your intervention in every place of the world especially where such crimes happen a lot. Cause the people and rulers of the land to genuinely and vigorously oppose child sexual abuse in all its forms and manifestations. Strike forth your arrows O Lord of hosts and scatter away all evil spirits that tempt sinners to molest children. Let your angels of justice strike and repel all such evil entities.
I also pray for those children who are already affected by molesters and rapists. Deliver them from evil and rescue those in pain and distress. Lord I pray that your Holy Spirit inspires people to fight for the welfare and safety of such affected children. Give the workers of justice success in their rescue plans for these ill treated youngsters. By your light expose all those unrepentant molesters and rapists that they are stopped well and harm no more. In the name of Jesus Christ I ask for rescue and justice in such situations.
I pray for those who are indulging in child sexual abuse, that their eyes open and they stop sinning. Let them do only good and totally turn away from their crimes. Cause them to let go of the children they hold captive without any further harm. I may not know who’s willing to repent but I still pray for their souls. May they bear fruits that befit repentance.
I pray that any form of literature, art or entertainment which promotes or shows child sex abuse is totally banned in all countries. Let your sword of justice work against on all corrupters of humanity who sell or distribute such vile media. Cause the buyers of these things to decrease in number. May the government push such perversion peddlers out of their nation. Let your justice prevail in the land that there be safety for the children of the world. I ask all this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Note: This prayer is not and is never meant to be a substitute for actual actions to rescue children who are in danger of molestation or already in affected by molesters. Please do refer to your local laws about what is ethical and legal to tackle child molesters of all sorts. Though this is a generalised prayer you can keep in mind any specific children or place where child abuse occurs, and use this prayer.
I once had to go to my aunt’s place when I was a child. And my siblings too came along, naturally. We’d roam around the place and visit the different parks around. Now my aunt would also take me to her neighbors too. One of them were a young couple, childless in fact. So then the woman whose house we were at was very nice to us and was speaking kindly to us. She was almost stuffing us with sweets, much to my delight. So my mother intervened and was telling her it’s enough for us. My aunt told her to let that woman be herself, since she and her husband don’t have any children. Then my mother understood why and didn’t bother her much, though she kept staring at me to stop overeating. On hearing that the couple were childless, though I was under 10 years I felt strange about such stuff. Later as the we left the couple’s house I felt I should pray about them, though they were not expressing their need verbally. These were not even Christian.
I simply had faith in God for them. Once we came to our home, I forgot about the couple and went on with life. Then again a few years later I again had to visit my aunt’s place. On inquiring about the couple, my aunt said they relocated to some other place but she also added that the woman finally gave birth a child and this has brought much joy to the couple. I was happy to learn of this, thought the couple never knew that they were being prayed for.
Now it doesn’t really matter if the people you prayed for even know you were praying for them. What matters is your faith in Christ. There might be others too who are praying for the same set of people you are praying, so don’t bother about claiming credit for your prayers. Simply commend your good works to Jesus who knows the heart of all people and continue to find the next person whom you can pray for. God will reward you for your good deeds at a time and place where no one can deny you the fruits of your ministry. Some people might also notice they’re getting blessed in this life for their prayers for the needy. Yet, our motivation must not be gaining rewards but rather to love God and spreading his blessings to others.
There are people who suffer and won’t be able to express their needs clearly. In fact they don’t speak about it. Maybe its due to shame or despair. God knows best! However, one can surely notice them suffering in some way or the other. For instance, suppose you see a news article about some shootings which happened. The pictures of tears on the families of the victims should be enough to make you realize that you can pray for justice and healing for them. At other times you might be at church and notice any couple with a spastic child, then just pray in your mind for them and their child to recover from that problematic disease. One doesn’t need to wait for the preacher to point out to them and then only you pray. Obviously, one must be sensitive to such people and never belittle them for their sufferings.
Pray to the Lord God to awaken your eyes to all such needy people who can’t express their grief but are in need of your prayers. Christ be with you in all this!
All praise to Christ Jesus who gives us true and lasting consolation. Blessed be the name of the Lord God. Amen.
The memory of the righteous is a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot. (Proverbs 10:7)
After Cain killed his brother Abel who was righteous, the Lord God cursed Cain. Such was the curse that when Cain was to till the ground, it would no longer yield to him its strength. Also that he would be a fugitive and a wanderer on the earth.
At this point, one must take into account another curse:
The Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, cursed are you above all livestock and above all beasts of the field; on your belly you shall go, and dust you shall eat all the days of your life. I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.” (Genesis 3:14-15)
With righteous Abel no longer alive and Cain being a worker of iniquity, it must have been very uneasy for Adam and Eve. Besides, Cain’s descendants were only getting worse. In fact one of Cain’s descendants Lamech boasted of his murderous nature.
Lamech said to his wives: “Adah and Zillah, hear my voice; you wives of Lamech, listen to what I say: I have killed a man for wounding me, a young man for striking me. If Cain’s revenge is sevenfold, then Lamech’s is seventy-sevenfold.” (Genesis 4:23-24)
God then decided to make sure that the ‘offspring of the woman’ who was to defeat the vile and despicable Serpent would never come from the line of Cain. So he blessed Adam and Eve with another child called Seth in place of Abel. This way not only would God’s plan be done but Abel be remembered too.
And Adam knew his wife again, and she bore a son and called his name Seth, for she said, “God has appointed for me another offspring instead of Abel, for Cain killed him.” To Seth also a son was born, and he called his name Enosh. At that time people began to call upon the name of the Lord. (Genesis 4:23-24)
Notice how Eve acknowledged Seth as God’s replacement for Abel who was killed by Cain. Seth means “placed” or “appointed” in Hebrew. The descendants of Seth were unlike those of Cain. In fact around the time Seth’s son Enosh was born, people called upon the name of the Lord. Abel too was a true worshiper of God.
Here’s what Flavius Josephus, the ancient historian had to say about Seth in his written work called the Antiquities of the Jews Book I, Ch II, Sn 3:
Adam “had indeed many other children, but Seth in particular. As for the rest, it would be tedious to name them; I will therefore only endeavor to give an account of those that proceeded from Seth. Now this Seth, when he was brought up, and came to those years in which he could discern what was good, became a virtuous man; and as he was himself of an excellent character, so did he leave children behind him who imitated his virtues. All these proved to be of good dispositions. They also inhabited the same country without dissensions, and in a happy condition, without any misfortunes falling upon them, till they died.”
Now Adam and Eve did get other sons and daughters too. What makes Seth unique to them is that he looked similar to Adam.
When Adam had lived 130 years, he fathered a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth. The days of Adam after he fathered Seth were 800 years; and he had other sons and daughters. (Genesis 5:3-4)
Seth was not fully aware of a great posterity that would emerge from him. What matters is that he was faithful to God. One may not know everything about the future but one must continue to trust in the Lord God and continue to do what is right. This brings to mind, that Abel’s legacy was and still remains is that he presented an acceptable sacrifice to the Lord by his faith. Yet there’s one descendant of Seth who for the record has surpassed even Abel (read the genealogy of Jesus mentioned in Luke 3:23-38 for this) . It’s Jesus Christ himself! Let’s read the following verses about their sacrifices:
- and Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat portions. And the LORD had regard for Abel and his offering (Genesis 4:4)
- But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, and to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel. (Hebrews 12: 22-24)
The Bible speaks well of the blood of Abel, so much so that it is mentioned alongside the blood of Jesus Christ. Both Jesus and Abel offered a worthy sacrifice to the Lord God. Abel offered the first of his flock, while Jesus offered himself unto God on the cross. Abel did this on behalf of himself while Jesus did it for the sins of the whole world. In fact salvation comes through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ which one must both confess with one’s month and believe with one’s heart. Let’s read the following verses:
if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:9-13)
Some people still don’t believe in Christ Jesus. There are people who oppose God’s will and yet they won’t have the final say in terms of victory. Despite the mess done by Cain in killing Abel, the Lord God was still able to make things work for good. This is because the will of God which is manifest in the word of God, has the power to prevail against all things that come against it.
- Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand. (Proverbs 19:21)
- So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. (Isaiah 55:11) (The ‘word’ as mentioned here is the Word of God)
- And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28)
One may have lost out on various things and people in life. Perhaps this was due to injustice and jealousy on part of others towards you or your loved ones. God can work justice against all evil doers. Ask the Lord for justice especially when you come to know of any innocent people dying or getting harmed unjustly at the hands of the wicked. This is not about revenge but justice, so be calm while God is working out justice. Perhaps God may bring them to repentance too. At this point remember that the Lord God was able to console Eve with Seth who he gave her in place of Abel. God is capable of bringing consolation to your life as well. You’ll need to put your trust in him and ask for a breakthrough in the name of Jesus Christ.
Christ be with you!

A truly good person will not desire worthless pleasures in life. Only vile people will indulge themselves and others in luxuries which come from illegal activities. One such greatly immoral thing is the buying and selling of blood diamonds. Because blood diamonds are obtained through forced labor or might I rather say slavery. And often this involves the murder of these slaves in the due course of time. A conservative estimate of the people killed for this would be tens of thousands. Both men and women are used as slaves at gun or knife point. Also children are given the worst treatment and some are brainwashed into turning into murderer’s for the blood diamond traders. This still goes on in certain African countries and is a scourge for them. I won’t be surprised if stuff like this happens outside of Africa too but God knows best. May the Lord expose all such works wherever this happens on Earth and provoke zealous people to be his sword of judgement on the enslavers!
Pray that such the oppressed are set free and their oppressor’s are stopped for good. It’s a well known fact that these blood diamonds despite being banned still get smuggled into a number of European countries. So it doesn’t matter whether you like diamonds or not, instead this is about not condoning such wickedness. Pray that the people who are sponsoring blood diamond trade realize the errors of their way and repent because it’s too late.
The hand of justice won’t be forever stopped, no matter what tricks people do to manipulate the law. It will prevail strongly and more so in the after life! Each one of them will be judged and never be sent to heaven due to their unwillingness to repent in their lifetime. Refusal to accept the Gospel and live it will be their own fault. They cannot give God any of their excuses to make them a law unto themselves. God will prevail over their own words every time
Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy. (Proverbs 31:8-9)
One must never let such activities be given the blind eye. Being permissive about blood diamonds despite knowing that people are enslaved to dig out diamonds in deadly conditions is a sure sign of apostasy! Do not set yourself for damnation by buying or selling blood diamonds. You still have the choice to do what is right. There are diamond’s which are obtained ethically and legally, opt for such diamonds instead. So always insist you get a lawfully obtained diamond without murder and blood shed, if ever you need a diamond later on in life. If in doubt of the origins of the diamond then don’t buy it. Instead check elsewhere and buy accordingly.
Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause.(Isaiah 1:17)
Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? (Matthew 16:24-26)
If you go by the words of Jesus Christ, you will realize that he wants those who believe in him to carry their cross and follow him. The problem comes when people think of the cross as a fashion statement or a lucky charm. Such people don’t understand the message of the Cross of Christ. Some mistake this to be a badge of their faith to show others. The Lord knows the human heart very well and he can detect all hypocrisy right away. Hypocrisy cannot coexist with righteous self-denial. So then, one ought to not to waste time on making a show about his or her faith in Christ. Rather one must try to live their faith in Christ by doing what he said, which is to take up one’s cross and follow him.
When my life as a pilgrim ends
I will say goodbye to my friends;
But though we must part for a while,
There is a reason for a smile.
Because our hope is in the Lord
And not what the world can afford,
The joys of heaven we will share
With the saints of all ages there.
We will walk upon streets of gold
Where there is beauty that’s untold
And have a wondrous dwelling place
With Him Who saved us by His grace!
If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. (John 15:19)
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2)
But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself. (Philippians 3:20-21)
Be humble under the Lord’s mighty hand,
Stay on the Rock not shifting sand.
Exalted you’ll be by God’s will,
To him belongs every valley and hill.
Worry not, be not in despair,
Put your anxieties under His care.
The Lord cares for those who believe,
Doubt not but his love receive.
Recognize your fears on the inside,
Then let word of God prevail and abide.
Worrying won’t make you an inch taller,
Instead it makes hope more smaller.
Look at the birds of the air, wake, see and observe,
How God feeds them without they working any farm nerve.
Don’t worry about clothes, food nor drink,
Seek God’s kingdom first in all you do and think.
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that in due time he may exalt you. Cast all your anxieties on him, for he cares about you. ( 1 Peter 5:6-7)
