The righteous are bold as a lion

The righteous are bold as a lion,
Everywhere and even at Mount Zion.
Those led by God, fear not anyone that hates,
And by Christ, they possess the enemies gates.

The wicked flee when no one pursues,
Such hearts secretly fear sins dues.
Those that are proud, God resists,
And for the unrepentant, judgement persists.

Now righteous or wicked, you cannot be both,
Accept what is good, but all sin you loathe.
Courage comes naturally to God’s chosen,
So, against the darkness don’t be frozen.

Look at those brave who the evil overcame,
They stood for God and his name all the same.
Ignore not these witnesses in heaven,
But partake of the Gospel’s leaven.
