Casting down imaginations and all that exalts itself against the knowledge of God

O dear believers in Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God, O take heed to the warnings of old. These are the warnings given to us by those who lived with Jesus in his earthly ministry. Learn from it, because you will profit. Observe them, so that your steps are on sold ground.

1Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you: But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh. For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:1-5)

These vain ideas were present in the times of the early church and even more now. Heresy and blasphemy has increased even more now. In the name of equality and freedom, the very things that enslave the minds of men and women are now being promoted.

Let me make it real to you:

Some people think its okay to keep on sinning continually, till their time of dying arrives and only then repent. However I’d say ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test’ to such people. Do remember ; Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. (1 John 3:4)

Then there are those that think that worshiping false gods while claiming to be Christian is fine because the Lord God is too loving to judge them. There are in for a nasty surprise in the afterlife for those who cling to false gods won’t enter heaven. Only in Jesus Christ there is salvation. Remember this ; And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)

Certain people think of the Lord God as a ever permissive father who will support their evil and selfish deeds, just he loves  them unconditionally, are completely in the wrong. By doing their bad deeds and not repenting for them they themselves have chosen to fall away from the grace of God. Memorize this ; “For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.” (Heb. 6:4-6)

Then then are people who want to practice witchcraft while staying in communion with the Lord God. You can either serve the Lord God or witchcraft. You cannot serve both. Do remember this well ; Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

O dear beloved believer in Jesus Christ, these things mentioned above involve discernment and having an active trust in the Word of God. For the doubting its very difficult, therefore do no live in doubt but in faith and prayer in these times.

17 But you must remember, beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. 18 They said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.” 19 It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit. 20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. 22 And have mercy on those who doubt; 23 save others by snatching them out of the fire; to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh. (Jude 1:17-23)

A prayer for wisdom

O Lord God, I come before you in humble surrender.
I repent of all my sins including that of following worldly wisdom.
Guide me O good Jesus that I do what is wise and prudent.
By the Holy Spirit lead me in the path that is good.
And warn me whenever there is danger, so that I may escape.
Keep me away from selfishness, hate and malice so I remain sin free.
Give me knowledge, so that I can help those in poverty and need.
Remove from me all folly of heart and mind as you gently lead me.
Teach me to be generous and not be greedy so that I truly live in faith.
I desire that the wisdom you give me is used only for good and not evil.
Bless me with the insight to be just and true to all whom interact with.
And cause me to live a life worthy of the Gospel.
I ask this in your Holy Name. Amen.

O Lord, deliver us from evil

O Lord, deliver us from evil.
When faced with dangers, rescue us.
When terror roams around, defend us.
When temptations arise, hold us.
Deliver us because you are the Good Shepherd.
Deliver us because you care for us.
Deliver us for the sake of your Holy Name.

O Good Jesus, we come to you with full trust in you.
Let us not be put to shame by the Enemy.
Let us not be down with sickness and disease.
Let us not be fearful of the future.
Save us and we will be saved.
Save us because you are the Almighty.
Save us that you be glorified O God most high.

O Lord, hear our prayer and deliver us from all evil. Amen.

Blessings to all on this Good Friday

28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said to fulfill the Scripture), “I thirst.” 29 A jar full of sour wine stood there, so they put a sponge full of the sour wine on a hyssop branch and held it to his mouth. 30 When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. (John 19:28-30)

We always carry the death of Jesus in our body

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, to show that the transcendent power belongs to God and not to us. 8 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; 10 always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. 11 For while we live we are always being given up to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh. 12 So death is at work in us, but life in you. (2 Corinthians 4:7-12)

Don’t worry about peace because Jesus is the Prince of Peace!

Why worry about peace? Don’t worry about peace because Jesus is the Prince of Peace.

The world needs peace. The world doesn’t have peace, because it’s not doing the will of God. But you O believer in Christ have received the keys of the Kingdom. Why not use these keys to unlock peace for yourself? Why not ask Jesus the Prince of Peace for peace in your mind and spirit?

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)

[Jesus said:] Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. (John 14:27)

If you need peace ask of the Lord God in prayer. Ask with faith. But most importantly ask it the right way or it won’t work for you. Many don’t receive this peace because they are not willing to do God’s will. Because they want to remain in sin and still expect a miracle out of the blue. God’s will doesn’t work that way.

You do not have, because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions. (James 4:2-3)

The peace of Christ is neither for vain pursuits nor selfishness. The peace of Christ is not for those who refuse to live a holy life. Sin is a big problem, so give it up all to Jesus for the sake of your own soul. Remember this; “There is no peace,” says the Lord, “for the wicked.” (Isaiah 48:22)

So let me summarize this to you:

Jesus is the Prince of Peace. So ask him for peace in your life as you pray to Jesus.  To receive the peace of God, repent of all sins including unforgiveness and idolatry and selfishness. This way be sure that the grace of God will shine on you!

Be glad that the Savior was born

Be glad that the Savior was born,
He is Lord of each new morn.
He is Jesus Christ the world’s savior,
He is of true humble behaviour.

Be glad that the Savior came,
And abide in His Holy Name.
For Christ saves all who believe,
And does their souls relieve.

Born as a child in a manger,
He loves the lowly and the stranger.
As part of God’s redeeming plan,
The Son of God became man.

This Son fulfilled all of the Law,
And did it all without a single flaw.
Jesus died on the Cross and rose again,
To defeat for us, sin, death, and pain.

Only God can truly fill the heart of man

Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved

“And I tell you, every one who acknowledges me before men, the Son of man also will acknowledge before the angels of God; but he who denies me before men will be denied before the angels of God. (Luke 12:8-9)

And brought them out and said, “Men, what must I do to be saved?” And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” (Acts 16:30-31)

Moses writes that the man who practices the righteousness which is based on the law shall live by it. But the righteousness based on faith says, Do not say in your heart, “Who will ascend into heaven?” (that is, to bring Christ down or “Who will descend into the abyss?” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? The word is near you, on your lips and in your heart (that is, the word of faith which we preach); because, if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For man believes with his heart and so is justified, and he confesses with his lips and so is saved. The scripture says, “No one who believes in him will be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all and bestows his riches upon all who call upon him. For, “every one who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:5-13)

Always win the test of your faith

Times that are difficult. Times that have temptations. Times that are of the VUCA type (volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity). Times when others lose the faith. Any of these or all of these or a combination of these is what you get when your faith is tested.

It doesn’t matter how big or small the test is. It doesn’t matter what is the source of the test. What matters is that are you willing to win against everything that is trying to fade away your faith? I’m not talking about faith in yourself, not about faith in doctors nor about faith in your nation or state. What I’m talking about is your faith in the Lord God!

Whether its a pandemic called Covid 19, or World War 3 itself, you should always strive to keep your faith in Jesus Christ. Keep it lest you lose your Godly reward!

Verses for reflection:

Jesus said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20)

For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. (1 John 5:4)

Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have tribulation. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life. (Revelation 2:10)

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. (Hebrews 11:6)
