The Mystery of the Cities that Jesus Cursed
Ministering to people in idolatrous places needs the Wisdom of God in action. Do pray to the Lord God for his wisdom when working in areas rampant with idolatry.
This is a topic that has held quite a bit of fascination for me, since I have been keenly interested in studying the healings and deliverance’s the Lord Jesus Christ performed during His ministry. These cities which are the subject of the Lord Jesus rebuke, have been called the “Evangelical Triangle”, since they were fairly close together and where the Lord spent much of His time ministering. http://www.kairos2.com/a_town_cursed_by_jesus.htm
What seems to beg the question then, why did the Lord rebuke them so strenuously? In studying a bit about these cities, it seems they were at the particular place in Israel which had been centers of idolatry, and even in the Lord’s day were still steeped in much unbelief which goes hand in hand with idolatry. For example, in Bethsaida, during archaeological excavations in recent times, a Medusa was found in the ruins of the Synagogue there. In any case, when…

Are you in the sickroom of despair, or the throne room of divine splendor?
Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction,(the pit) who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies… Bless the Lord, O my soul! Psalm 103:1-4, 22.
A Pit, shahat, Strong’s #7845: a pit, (especially as a trap, a place with no way out) figuratively destruction, corruption, ditch, grave, pit. A word with a lot of significance. In the Septuagint (Greek translation of the OT) it is rendered diaphthora #1312 this word is used by Luke in Acts 2:27, 13:35, which he refers to it as “corruption” it is destruction in a moral sense. a spiritual and moral impurity that leads to a place (pit, hell, sheol). Hosea 4: 6 (KJV) My people perish from a lack of knowledge.
Hosea 4: 6 (KJV) My people perish from a lack of knowledge.
Its one thing to know your Bible, but its an other thing to KNOW the God of the Bible.
Charles HaddonSpurgeon once said, ”The scripture is our inexhaustible textbook, the Lord Jesus our boundless subject and the Holy Spirit our divine infinite helper“.
When Jesus had gone forty days in the desert fasting and praying. Jesus was hungry and at a weak point. One translation says, “he was faint with hunger “. The Devil, the tempter came to him. The question I put to you dear friends is this, when does the Devil tempts you the most ? Its at your weakest moment, its at your weakest point.
How did Jesus handle this moment? He brought God into it. He quoted the Bible, God’s word. Each time the Devil tried to trap Jesus, Jesus would respond, ”It is written!”
Many people are…

Sorry for a recent post that dumped lots of random codes. Will post it again, correctly.
Don’t broadcast everything
We need to use wisdom in speaking out or broadcasting things that are happening in our lives.
Look at nature there are lots o things done in secret . Babies grow in the secret womb of their mothers. Butterflies grow in the secret place of chrysalis. Diamonds are formed in the secret place under the ground.
Jesus said in Matt 6 – when you fast, give or pray , do it in secret so that the father who watches you in secret will reward you openly.
He also said don’t cast your pearls before the pigs. Meaning don’t throw holy things before people who will trample it under their feet.
Be careful about speaking about your Vision or Dream prematurely like Joseph went around bragging to his brothers and they became jealous of him.
Be careful about showing off your treasures to the enemy like king Hezekiah did, when he…

Cares Unbound ~
CHRISTian poetry ~ by deborah ann
Some people carry,
the world’s weight
for on their shoulder
their troubles grate.
Some people worry,
about everything
for on their minds
fear twists and wrings.
Some people stress,
over everyday life
for on their hearts
grinds daily strife.
Some people suffer,
from depression
for on their souls
is guilt’s impression.
Some people carry,
their burdens around
but if they’d turn to Jesus
their cares, He’d unbound!
