Come again O Lord Jesus

Come again O Lord Jesus,
And from the Evil One seize us.
The world has become more evil,
And is in constant upheaval.

Your saints and friends need your grace,
Show once again your redeeming face.
As the winter gets longer,
O Lord make us stronger.

O God send your Son Jesus again,
Let Him take away our pain.
Against sinners give us redemption,
To you we give our solemn attention.

You creation still suffers and groans,
Do put back on it the flesh to the bones.
Come again O Jesus the Son of God,
Yet again on Jerusalem’s paths to trod.

A prayer for wisdom

O Lord God, I come before you in humble surrender.
I repent of all my sins including that of following worldly wisdom.
Guide me O good Jesus that I do what is wise and prudent.
By the Holy Spirit lead me in the path that is good.
And warn me whenever there is danger, so that I may escape.
Keep me away from selfishness, hate and malice so I remain sin free.
Give me knowledge, so that I can help those in poverty and need.
Remove from me all folly of heart and mind as you gently lead me.
Teach me to be generous and not be greedy so that I truly live in faith.
I desire that the wisdom you give me is used only for good and not evil.
Bless me with the insight to be just and true to all whom interact with.
And cause me to live a life worthy of the Gospel.
I ask this in your Holy Name. Amen.

O Lord, deliver us from evil

O Lord, deliver us from evil.
When faced with dangers, rescue us.
When terror roams around, defend us.
When temptations arise, hold us.
Deliver us because you are the Good Shepherd.
Deliver us because you care for us.
Deliver us for the sake of your Holy Name.

O Good Jesus, we come to you with full trust in you.
Let us not be put to shame by the Enemy.
Let us not be down with sickness and disease.
Let us not be fearful of the future.
Save us and we will be saved.
Save us because you are the Almighty.
Save us that you be glorified O God most high.

O Lord, hear our prayer and deliver us from all evil. Amen.

Bible verses about waiting patiently for the Lord

Surely none who wait for You will be put to shame; but those who are faithless without cause will be disgraced. (Psalm 25:3)

I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. (Psalm 27:13-14)

Wait for the LORD and keep His way, and He will raise you up to inherit the land. When the wicked are cut off, you will see it. (Psalm 37:34)

I waited patiently for the LORD; He inclined to me and heard my cry. (Psalm 40:1)

Rest in God alone, O my soul, for my hope comes from Him. (Psalm 62:5)

I wait for the LORD; my soul does wait, and in His word I put my hope. (Psalm 130:5)

Do not say, “I will avenge this evil!” Wait on the LORD, and He will deliver you. (Proverbs 20:22)

And in that day it will be said, “Surely this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He has saved us. This is the LORD for whom we have waited. Let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation.” (Isaiah 25:9)

For the vision awaits an appointed time; it testifies of the end, and will not lie. Though it lingers, wait for it, since it will surely come and not delay. (Habakkuk 2:3)

Never be envious or jealous of others if you love God

Never be envious or jealous of others if you love God, because that would amount to doubting God’s goodness in your life.

Why must you be envious of sinners, especially those who look prosperous?

Do you want to have their final hopeless end as well? Or do you want to have the hope which comes from Christ Jesus alone?

Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the LORD. There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off. (Proverbs 23:17-18)

Fret not yourself because of evildoers; be not envious of wrongdoers! For they will soon fade like the grass and wither like the green herb. Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. (Psalm 37:1-3)

Envy is a sin that starts first in the mind but once it’s put into action, it can harm others and self too

Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted with evil and he himself tempts no one; but each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin; and sin when it is full-grown brings forth death. (James 1:13-15)

Some people are utterly lazy and some lack the right mindset for success, yet these people get very envious and jealous of others who succeed where they failed. Instead of being happy for the success of others, they only find faults with that person. In offices, you will see such kinds, who refuse to talk to a recently promoted colleague just because of envy. In families, you will notice people who won’t help their suffering kin but will do everything to mock a family member who just came out of joblessness, because of jealousy. In politics, you will see one politician who is willing to burn down the entire nation, just because he or she cannot see another politician getting praised by the people for his or her government policies. (Just to be clear, I’m not talking about any specific country, nor about some specific religion. I’m talking about the whole wide world.)

Don’t even say jealousy and envy motivate you

Anyone who claims jealousy and envy motivates them to do better is just plain wrong. Such a person’s wisdom is never from God and can therefore never be justified. You can succeed in life by being truthful and kind and hardworking.

But if you have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your heart, don’t brag and deny the truth. Such wisdom does not come from above but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where envy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every kind of evil. (James 3:14-16)

Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21)

Aim to be free from envy and jealousy for your own welfare

Those who continue to remain envious and jealous are simply harming themselves. Firstly harming their thought life and eventually losing their body and soul.

A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones. (Proverbs 14:30)

Surely resentment destroys the fool, and jealousy kills the simple. (Job 5:2)

Instead of jealousy and envy have true love and desire to grow in the Word of God

Instead of wasting your life, resist all jealousy and envy, and each sinful habit and instead love God in all truth. Read the Word of God and grow in it.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. (1 Corinthians 13:4)

Therefore, putting aside all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander, like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation. (1 Peter 2:1-2)

Christ be with you!

Have confidence by the Holy Spirit

To God’s Divine and Holy Word your heart you fully apply,
And pray that God’s Spirit is poured on you from on high.
Be transformed by the renewing of your mind,
Unto God’s will leave no effort behind.

By the Holy Spirit bear fruits that are good,
That you be peaceful and without falsehood.
When you believe the Lord is your defense,
Then in your soul be without pretense.

Don’t fear demons nor any man,
When you have faith in God’s plan.
Dare to be holy in a world that’s profane,
That by God’s Spirit in life you reign.

On walking a path that is not as per God’s calling

Thank You Lord

God takes our prayers personally

Often say, ‘O Lord God in the name of Jesus remember me as I pray. Because I believe that take each prayer personally’. Do not think because you don’t always see immediate results that God does not care. While its true he doesn’t give heed to the prayers of sinners and the unforgiving, he does listen to the prayers of the righteous. Those who are in Christ and who follow his word will always have God hearing them when they pray.

The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry (Psalm 34:15)

But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. (Matthew 6:6)
