Prayers leading to Christmas – 23

O Lord Jesus, help me to keep waiting for your return with expectation and purity. The prophets and saints of old, waited for your first coming and were not disappointed, for they are comforted in your presence in heaven. Give me hope and joy, as I ponder on your second coming. Keep the faith in me ever glowing, for glory of God our Father. By your Holy Spirit counsel me that I remember your Gospel each and everyday of my life. Give me the grace to be unblemished by the cares, pleasures and allure of this world, so that I’m truly ready to receive you. I ask this in your Holy Name. Amen.

Prayers leading to Christmas – 15

O Lord God help me to speak of your Son Jesus Christ, without shyness nor any fear. Guide me by your Holy Spirit to preach about Jesus, and the Holy Gospel to the lost and the unsaved. May it be a witness to them for their salvation. Bless my mind and memory, that I remember all the teachings of the Holy Scriptures, especially in regards to Jesus the savior of the world. Give me the power to refute and resist the lies of the Enemy, God haters and heretics, about your Son Jesus. Let me speak of the greatness and humility of Jesus Christ. Let me speak of His healing and saving grace. Let me speak of his love and resurrection. Let me speak all of this for your glory and not for myself. I ask this in the name of your Son Jesus Christ. Amen.

Prayers leading to Christmas – 14

O Lord God give me your joy, which comes from faith in you. With trust in your mercy, I take off the garment of sorrow and affliction and put on for ever the beauty of the glory from you O Lord. I believe in my spirit that you O God of Abraham, Moses and Jacob, will lead Israel with joy, in the light of your glory, with the mercy and righteousness that come from you alone. I declare in my heart, that the joy of the Lord is my strength, and I reject all the sinful and deceitful pleasures of the world. O good Jesus give me the joy of your salvation, set me free from the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things which are unhelpful to my soul. I wish not to be distracted by sorrow, nor lose the joy in waiting for your second coming. I ask this in your Holy Name. Amen and amen.

Prayers leading to Christmas – 13

O Lord God who created the heavens and the earth, grant that I do more and more good deeds to glorify you. Cause me to speak of Jesus Christ the Saviour, to those in need of healing and counsel. By your Holy Spirit, lead me to works of charity and mercy, so that the poor and the oppressed get relief from their woes. I give up each and every thing that causes me to be selfish, so that I be more generous towards the noble cause of the preaching of the Gospel, to the ends of the earth. Make me more creative in helping others. Take away from me all shyness and fear of doing good works in the world, so that all who see me give glory to you O Lord my Father in heaven. Above all keep sanctifying me and help me to be free from all deception and pride, so that I be a good example to friends and family and all who interact with me. I ask this in your Holy Name. Amen.

Quick reminder: Jesus is alive

alive

Now Thomas, one of the Twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and place my finger into the mark of the nails, and place my hand into his side, I will never believe.” Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.” Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!” (John 20:24-29)

But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. (1 Corinthians 15:20)

The former priests were many in number, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office, but he holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues forever. Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.. (Hebrews 7:23-25)

When I saw him (Jesus), I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades. (Revelation 1:17-18)

Exalted Savior

Spotless Lamb, Perfect Man
None else is qualified
To take the scroll, to break its seals
But Jesus Christ Who died
He alone has borne our sins
He has borne God’s wrath
He has overcome each foe
And conquered sin and death
Fix your eyes upon this One
Who once was crucified
For now He sits enthroned with God
Forever glorified

Every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.  By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already. Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error. (1 John 4:1-6)

Love the Lord your God

Love the Lord your God,
And him only serve.
Honor, worship and adoration,
Nobody else does deserve.

Love God with all your strength,
And for his sake be pure.
He rewards those who for him,
Calamities and troubles endure.

Love God with all your mind,
And make him your goal.
For he’s the forgives your sins,
Making you truly whole.

Love God’s son Jesus,
And his Gospel believe.
His love, peace and joy,
Then you will receive.

Love the Holy Spirit divine,
And be led by him O daughter, O son.
He will remind you of Christ,
For your salvation he has won.
