The Cares Of The World

The cares of the world can be many or less,
But the name of the Lord we are to bless.
For such cares can overwhelm,
So follow the wisdom of God’s realm.

There are many who get choked,
Because Jesus’ help they haven’t invoked.
Had they asked the Lord’s grace,
His victory would glow upon their face.

Jesus is the Good Shepherd and the Rock,
And he hears the cry of his flock.
So don’t bear your burdens alone,
But seek help from God on his throne.

Don’t let your mind go weak,
Nor in any depression be asleep.
But surrender all your worries and cares,
Unto Christ Jesus in your prayers.

Rise up for the Lord

Don’t stay down in life,
Nor let laziness get rife.
Like Gideon get all ready,
On God’s Word be steady.

Win that victory first in your heart,
So that towards God’s plan you start.
Don’t fear the future, present nor the past,
But all this unto the Lord you cast.

Be willing to conquer all strongholds,
As God’s will for your life unfolds.
Rescue those weak in faith,
From each insidious scathe.

Rise against sin by true repentance,
Let faith be filled in each sentence.
Be of good cheer and good hope,
And with Christ all challenges cope.

A clarification about Christian clergy and Covid 19 (Corona virus)

There are some Christians that are using social media to condemn Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, and other sorts of Christian clergy saying, “Why did God not show them the Covid-19 disaster?”

Lord Jesus clearly said, “My sheep hear my voice” (John 10:27)
Clearly the responsibility lies on every sheep of the LORD and not only on those serving in positions.
Why pass the buck?

Today, Doctors and many learned people in the medical field have no clue how to handle the pandemic and many (sadly) are infected themselves.

So does that mean they are fake? Certainly not!
In fact, they are doing a superb job and they deserve our respect and prayers

The secret things belong to the LORD (Deuteronomy 29:29)
Scripture clearly tells us that the LORD does not reveal everything to man. There are secrets that the Lord keeps to Himself!

In Mark 13:32, Lord Jesus spoke of His coming, “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”
There are certain things that even angels do not know of. Does it mean that angels are to be despised? God have mercy. No!

Prophet Elisha was a man who could tell what the King of Syria spoke in His bedroom. But, one day, when the Shunamite woman came to him in distress, He told his servant Gehazi, “the Lord has hidden it from me, and has not told me.” (2 King 4:27) Does this make Prophet Elisha inferior in any manner? Certainly not!

At such times, rather than pointing a frustrated finger at others, look inside and ask, “What can I do to alleviate the misery around me”

If you can share food with the needy – then do it
If you can share your services – then do it
If you can pray – then, please do (we need it the most)

If all you can do is talk – then kindly KEEP QUIET
Talk is cheap

Note: I received this as a forward and felt like you  might want to take a note of this. The source or origin of the post is unknown but the message is apt for these times. Let the Body of Christ unite in the truest sense of the Word. Please share this post widely.

Edit: I will try find if there are any details about any prophecies about the Corona virus that might been spoken ‘before’ this outbreak could happen.

Using your conscience

A tactical attribute that every Christian must have is to listen to use one’s conscience. Your conscience keeps you focused on the will of God. It warns you about the dangers of sin. So you must pay attention to it.

Never become like the world which has a twisted conscience. Sometimes there are hardened criminals who have seared their conscience. These suppress all thoughts of goodness and repentance so that guilt doesn’t work on them. Such sinners won’t inherit the kingdom of God.

To you use your conscience is simple; you actually use it. Period.

You have your Sunday (or Saturday) church service to attend every week. On the next Monday you read in the news about an impending cyclone that’s due to rampage the coast on Wednesday. You don’t need to wait till your church preacher speaks about it on the following Sunday and then decide to help out. You can right away start interceding for the safety of those who are living in the coast. Why wait for the damage to happen to others when you prevent it? If possible you can also reach out to your church members to see if they can intercede along with you. If you feel you can do more than pray then go for it. See if you can provide moral and financial help. If you are able to volunteer in the relief efforts then please do so.

Isn’t temptation dangerous to the soul? If you know you find it hard to resist gluttony then take action to help yourself. Why eat a lot now and then feel guilty later? Nip the sin in the bud. Crucify the flesh and its desires.

Suppose a child is fearful of a stranger who lurks suspiciously around him at school for the last 3 weeks, would it help the child to keep quiet or actually ask the teacher or parents to tackle the stranger? You know full well that the kid must ask for help against the stranger. Then why when sinful thoughts of pride come to your mind do you allow them to lurk around? There’s no need to hide them from the counsel of the Lord God. You can be helped but will you ask for it? Ask Jesus to protect you against pride. Surrender all evil thoughts to God and ask for good and holy thoughts. If you may, reach out to a pastor to help you overcome pride. But don’t ever ignore the voice of your conscience when you feel that pride is not worth it. Why just tackle pride alone? There’s hate, envy, lust, deceit and other sinful things that your conscience will warn you, if only you pay attention to it. Keep yourself unstained by the ways of the sinful world.

When thinking about the will of God for your nation or family don’t adopt a ignorant attitude. Don’t say whatever is to happen will happen. Even Abraham decided to be specific about whom his son Isaac would marry. You can read all about this in Genesis Chapter 24 in the Holy Scriptures. If you know that your nation is getting more into racism then don’t turn a blind eye. Seek God in prayer and ask for justice. Ask for the end of racism. Don’t condone racism by your silence in front of God and also men, women and children. If your city is losing youngsters to drugs then let your conscience remind you that as a citizen you can report drug peddlers to the police. You can also get various NGO’s involved to get people off drugs.

The Lord God can speak into your conscience if only you let him. Read the Bible to understand his will for you. Pray in the Holy Spirit at all times. Hold on to the cross at all times. When voices of temptation speak of pleasures of deceit, listen to that still small yet firm voice of conscience that says ‘follow only the Lord Jesus and reject all sin’. You will find your conscience a little strict at first but later you will realize that it just wants you be in true union with God and his will for you.

God bless you and keep you.

The truth about comfort foods

Isaiah 55:2 Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food.

Romans 14:17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, and peace, and joy in [the] Holy Spirit.

Food is an important part of life. We all eat to live but some instead even live to eat, which is a wrong way of life. You know that excess eating is related to heart disease and high blood pressure. It can put strain when you walk. Besides over eating can make you look fat. That’s the physical part.

Wrong eating affects emotionally too. Eating certain types of food can be addictive and when such stuff is not there it can make one restless. You peace when dependant on comfort food can become quite shaky.

Wrong eating has had bad ramifications in the Bible too. Esau was a glutton who lost his inheritance to Jacob due trading it for food. The beginning stage of the Israelites complaining against God started when they lusted for Egyptian food instead of trusting God to nourish them. And the biggest one; Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit and by that, death entered the human race.

There’s a trend in people eating a lot of stuff comfort food. Here a person doesn’t eat to meet the needs of body ie for the physical but rather for emotional appeasement. Not just people who are overweight but even normal looking people have been getting into it. Comfort food is used to feel good after a hard days work or after difficult times.

I once was talking to a woman who said that she ate a lot so that she could tackle depression. On talking further I realized she was still in depression, she too understood that her comfort food was harming her. She wanted to leave that habit but found it near impossible to leave it. All that over eating did was make her obese and in a few months she was hospitalized. She not just gorged on food but now got addicted to sleeping pills too. Later by medical treatment she physically recovered and was put on a strict diet. She then by means of prayer and faith in the Lord Jesus decided to face her negative emotions. She took a stand against them instead of hiding her life into excessive eating. She became more confident emotionally and mentally. Also her weight normalized as well.

I’m not saying that emotional eating ie eating comfort foods is the same as gluttony though it possible in some cases that the boundaries between them are blurred. I’ve also noticed that both men and women fall prey to emotional eating. The reasons why people fall into it may differ but everyone needs to be free from it.

To be truly free from such addictions to comfort foods one must be willing to face their weaknesses and troubles with courage. Jesus can give you the courage it takes. One must understand that Jesus is willing to help you if you want to be helped. Take refuge in the Lord Jesus who gives true hope. Asking him in prayer is a sign that you are taking ownership of your situation instead of the situation owning you. Try to change your food habits. Keep fixed times and quantities for eating. Though, not every case may be extreme, you might want to consider medical treatment if you get breathless or have recurring chest pain etc due to overeating. Pray to the Holy Spirit that you take the right decisions with your eating and drinking.

The heresy of pre-forgiven sin

Galations 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

I pray that you truly understand the meaning of Galatians 1:8. Now I have noticed on those lines a lie that sounds very religious but in fact is a false gospel. Here’s what it is. It says that by Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross not only your past and present sins are forgiven but also your future sins. Now for a second this seems legit but that lie further adds that if you live in sin in the future, even that is forgiven without you feeling the need to repent. This is simply a heresy of the highest order.

Such lies make a person who is struggling with sin, to give up and commit more sins in the false hope of being automatically forgiven. We are in Christ called to live in true hope. We are called overcome our weaknessess and failures instead of shirking responsibility. If you know you have sinned be humble and ask for mercy from the Lord Jesus Christ who will pardon you. To say that you never sinned is to deny the truth of Gospel which says Christ came for sinners and not for the righteous. He came to seek and save the lost. Amen, he continues to save people even today if they call upon his holy name.

Now the scripture can be used with amazing effect to fight heresies. The are principles in the Bible that stand the test of time. Like God will always be the ruler of heaven. Also Satan will never ever become a good person! Now coming to the point, the blood of Jesus does not automatically forgive you of your FUTURE sins, as these need to be repentanted off once the sin is done. If someone disagrees, why not consider as to why Ananias and Saphira were NOT pre-forgiven. Their sin is mentioned in the Bible along with God’s judgement on them.

Acts 5:1-11

The Sin of Ananias and Sapphira

A man by the name of Ananias and his wife, Sapphira, sold some land. 2 He kept back part of the money for himself. His wife knew it also. The other part he took to the missionaries. 3 Peter said to Ananias, “Why did you let Satan fill your heart? He made you lie to the Holy Spirit. You kept back part of the money you got from your land. 4 Was not the land yours before you sold it? After it was sold, you could have done what you wanted to do with the money. Why did you allow your heart to do this? You have lied to God, not to men.”
5 When Ananias heard these words, he fell down dead. Much fear came on all those who heard what was done. 6 The young men got up and covered his body and carried him out and buried him.
7 About three hours later his wife came in. She did not know what had happened.
8 Peter said to her, “Tell me, did you sell the land for this amount of money?” She said, “Yes.” 9 Then Peter said to her, “How could you two have talked together about lying to the Holy Spirit? See! Those who buried your husband are standing at the door and they will carry you out also.” 10At once she fell down at his feet and died. When the young men came in, they found that she was dead. They took her out and buried her beside her husband. 11Much fear came on all the church and on all who heard it.

Now there’s more. Why does the Lord through the Bible keep warning of severe judgement if some were to receive the mark of the Beast? The are verses that say that those who recieve it, will never be forgiven. If the Lord knows that some people are going to sin why does he not use the ‘auto forgiven for the future’ stance? Because simply, such a thing does not exist and is wholly inconsistent with the Gospel. You need to repent if you sin. Period.
