Will you endure to the end?

Will you endure to the end,
Or to falsehood bow and bend?
Will your love for God become cold,
Or be fiery, bright and bold?

Will you pray that you be good,
Or let your faith become dull wood?
Will you bite the sinful bait,
Or upon the Lord will you wait?

Will you get jealous of the shameless,
Or walk the Way that’s blameless?
Will you love to do what’s right,
Or be impious with worldly fright?

Will you delight in God’s holy word,
Or turn to things all absurd?
Will you say you have no free will,
Or with Christ overcome every hill?

Will you be under God’s hand,
Or dwell in shifting sand?
Will you get into things vain and impure,
Or in faithfulness till the end endure?

Reflection verses:

Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold.  But the one who endures to the end will be saved. (Matthew 24:12-13)
