Good Friday Blessings!
Jesus Christ the Son of God, became the son of man. Because all of humankind by itself cannot atone for their sins. However God in his great mercy sent Jesus Christ his own son, to live among us. And as he lived among us he was tempted in all ways like us but didn’t sin. He knew he came from God and was going back to God. By his redemptive suffering on the cross he obtained for us forgiveness of sins that it not only gives us everlasting life but also restores our friendship with God. Adam and Eve’s sin was rebellion against the Word of God. And God by his Word redeems all those who repent of their sin and believes in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Jesus didn’t come from heaven to earth for his own glory. He didn’t come to sit on the Throne of David. He only came in humility to preach the Good news and die for the sins of the world on the cross.
God created time through His Word. And the same Word of God in the flesh, was subject to the limit of time and human experience. Yes the day and hour Jesus was nailed to the cross, he wasn’t punished because he sinned but rather became a victim to take upon himself the sins of the world. In those moments when Jesus died all the punishment that is due for the people who sin, he took upon Himself. Therefore God has ordained that whomsoever believes in His Son Jesus Christ would not perish but have everlasting life. Yes such is the love of God for all the children of Adam and Eve which shows up as we remember our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Good Friday!
Good Friday – Blessed be the name of Jesus
On Good Friday we bless the name of Jesus because he died on the cross for the sins of the world. Jesus fulfilled the will of God for all mankind by taking upon himself the sins of the world. He became man and fulfilled the Law since no man nor woman could do it all by themselves. Jesus Christ was obedient unto death, his death upon the cross. This was to save those who believe in the Him from theirs sins as per the plan of God.
Jesus is the Lamb slain before the foundations of the world. Happy are those who receive him into their hearts and renounce the ways of the world.
It’s because of the goodness of the Christ Jesus that we even call Good Friday as good. It’s the goodness and mercy of God that He sent his only begotten Son Jesus Christ to earth to die for the sins of the world, that whosoever believes in Jesus Christ will not perish but have everlasting life.
5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:5-11)
14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:14-16)
7 In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence. 8 Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered. 9 And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him (Hebrews 5:7-9)
The true goodness of Good Friday is Jesus Christ himself. Bless the name of Jesus Christ and never take His Holy Name in vain. Reflect on God’s great love for you, when He sent Jesus for all us all, so that it goes well with your soul in this life and also in the life everlasting with Jesus Christ.
Christ be with you!
Blessings to all on this Good Friday
28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said to fulfill the Scripture), “I thirst.” 29 A jar full of sour wine stood there, so they put a sponge full of the sour wine on a hyssop branch and held it to his mouth. 30 When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. (John 19:28-30)
